An Excerpt from ‘The End of Death’

When we see or feel conflict, fear, pain, sickness, sadness, scarcity or death, these are immediate signals alerting us to initiate healing through the miracle – if we are ready and willing. Discipline is called for to remember that there is literally nothing ‘out there’, no matter how upsetting it appears. All forms of suffering (no exceptions) are outward projections of our own split mind. To the degree that they trigger fear, concern, anger or sadness in us, is the extent to which our own unrecognized self-hatred (guilt) is revealed. And it’s revealed for one purpose only. Now we can willingly release our painful perception to Spirit. But…we must recognize the only source of pain is our perception.
The ego sees the cause of pain ‘out there’ in the body, in another, in the past or in the world. While we continue to displace the cause out there in the world or in the past, then true healing of the only cause, which is our perception, cannot be healed in the ‘now’. To invoke the miracle we must acknowledge the only cause, which is our wrong-minded perception, so that the singular cure can be affected.
The Atonement is mandatory in healing the one cause of all suffering. We need it to correct our insane perception of there being a ‘real’ problem that requires a real solution. There are no problems in God’s Love. God’s Love IS the remedy. This next point is important. We can’t have the remedy while we still choose to believe what our body’s senses tells us is real. Our belief in the problem as being ‘real’, AND our belief in God’s remedy – are both mutually exclusive! You can’t have both. You must give up one in order to have the other. Will you forfeit God’s remedy (Atonement) and keep the problem? Or will you deny the ego’s obsessive compulsion to ‘believe’ suffering – and accept God’s remedy, the Atonement?
If we are prepared to relinquish our belief that that the problem is indeed real, then we can invoke the miracle. Now, we can willingly release our painful perception to Spirit. And in any Holy Instant, accept (receive) the miracle of healed perception through Atonement. No preparation is necessary. Your natural state is pure innocence and perfection. Regardless of all the ego tempts you to believe about yourself, your true Being is totally without fault. The Love and majesty that you are…is all that God knows of you; you ARE the Kingdom of Heaven. Everything else in the ego’s dream has never shown up on God’s Radar. Are you prepared to accept only this?
Accepting Atonement is the simplest and most profound accomplishment we could ever do in this world. Yet it’s the hardest for the ego because in the instant of Atonement, the ego ceases to exist in our awareness. Accepting Atonement is accepting our original pristine state of innocence and Love. It only takes an instant in which we wholeheartedly release our perception in exchange for the miracle.
“Accept Atonement and you are healed. Atonement is the Word of God. Accept His Word and what remains to make sickness possible? Accept His Word and every miracle has been accomplished. To forgive is to heal. Â The teacher of God has taken accepting the Atonement for himself as his only function. What is there, then, he cannot heal? What miracle can be withheld from him?” M-22.1:5-12
The miracle can be accepted for yourself or on behalf of another. They may be in a body or not. Remember that if you wish to help heal another, then you must accept Atonement for yourself. No words are necessary.
The last step to Atonement is trust. Trust that healing has already been accomplished regardless of continuing ‘appearances’ to the contrary.
“Yet love without trust is impossible, and doubt and trust cannot coexist.” M-7.4:6 5.”The real basis for doubt about the outcome of any problem that has been given to God’s Teacher for resolution is always self-doubt. And that necessarily implies that trust has been placed in an illusory self, for only such a self can be doubted.” M-7.5:1-2
